IS AI BETTER AT SPIRITUAL ADVISING THAN HUMANS?

Fascinating stuff, this AI thing.

While I get it that this is the first batch of Kool-uh, well…(don’t wanna get a lawyer letter here)… first offerings of the gods to us mortals to be more than God made us, I also get it that as long as I can, I’ll ethically, morally and in good conscience, use it. Shucks, we’re all “using” AI right now. Duh.

Anyway, I’ve been playing around with AI a bit here and there, pushing the proverbial “buttons,” testing the difference in the tonal quality of various bells, and creating my own whistles of astonishment now and then.

For those of you who have a curious mind, you may be interested in going down the path my curiosity led me on this particular day.

Perplexity Pro – Best Free or Paid AI Tool

This is one of my many “experiments” with Perplexity (which I liked so much I ponied up the two hunert bucks for the pro version). I’ve been curious about the “spiritual” side of AI, and of course, looking for any bias there. (For the record, I haven’t found “bias” but have found (1) ordinary ignorance; (2) blended ignorance; and (3) well researched ignorance.) But, there’s some genuine value, as well. It can produce some very good stuff on the spiritual side of life. Fact is, it can give solid, well reasoned material to the Jew, the Christian, the Muslim and all the way to those buying into Raelism (they believe aliens created us and they’re coming back to get us in 2025, just so you know.)

Here’s the backdrop:

In a real-life scenario, I’m going to counsel with a person who needs, among other things, some spiritual guidance. I already know how I will be advising and encouraging this person and don’t need nor want AI telling me what to do. However, I got to wondering how Perplexity’s AI   would handle it. So, following is the query and the response. Enjoy.

=====================

Query to Perplexity Pro: As a Christian, please write a message that inspires me to believe that God will lead me, will direct my paths, and give me biblical trusts and verses that I can accept as assurances of God’s leading in my life.

  • Perplexity Pro Response:

Dear child of God,

In this moment, I want you to know that you are not alone. You are not wandering through life without a guide. Our loving Father, God, is always with you, leading and directing your path. He is the Shepherd who knows His sheep by name and guides them to green pastures and still waters (Psalm 23:1-3).

The Bible reminds us that God’s ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts (Isaiah Bible55:8-9). He knows the beginning and the end, and He has a plan for your life that is full of hope and purpose (Jeremiah 29:11). Trust that He is working everything out for your good, even when you cannot see the way ahead (Romans 8:28).

In times of uncertainty, remember that God is your Rock, your Refuge, and your Guide. He will direct your paths and make them straight (Proverbs 3:5-6). He will give you wisdom and discernment to make the right decisions, and He will be your constant companion on your journey (James 1:5).

Do not be afraid to ask for guidance, for God is always willing to listen and to lead. He desires a deep and personal relationship with you, and He longs to speak to your heart and guide you in His ways (John 10:27).

Here are some biblical truths and verses that I hope will bring you comfort and assurance of God’s leading in your life:

– “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” – Proverbs 3:5-6
– “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” – Jeremiah 29:11
– “You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” – Psalm 16:11
– “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” – Romans 8:28
– “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.” – Psalm 32:8

teacherMay these words bring you peace and confidence in God’s leading. Remember, He is always with you, guiding and directing your path. Trust in Him, and He will never fail you.

==============================

Well, it’s not too shabby. I have to admit, it’s not bad at all.

But, I’ll stick to my own ideas for now. And frankly, I dunno I’d want to use it to “inspire” me in this area.

Know what I mean?
